Heron Pond Montessori School has been serving the Outer Banks families since September 1995.

We are a North Carolina registered private school and follow the Montessori method of education.
We believe in the “whole child” approach to learning. The primary goal of a Montessori program is to help each child reach full potential in all areas of life.

​Heron Pond Montessori School welcomes students of all races, religions, and ethnicities. Our enrollment process aims to ensure that HPMS remains a lively and diverse community guided by Montessori philosophy, committed to the shared work of “following the child.”
​We accept children on a space available bases and attempt to fill the classroom with the appropriate age and gender balance.
