Heron Pond Montessori School is pleased to offer the option of a year round/ balanced school year calendar for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. This pilot program will enable us to offer two calendar choices to our families. The year round school calendar begins July 29,2020 and will end June 28, 2021.

Benefits of a Year Round Calendar

• Regular breaks create consistent anticipation. Always having something to look forward to close on the horizon. Like the feeling you get when the weekend is coming, it's a little easier to get things done.

• There's less chance for 'summer loss'. Parents and teachers notice the annual dip in retention and academic enthusiasm. None of the shorter breaks in the year round calendar are long enough to result in a negative effect on a learner's growth.

• It can be easier on working parents, especially in a summer tourism-driven location.

• Families can schedule travel and vacations more easily throughout the year.
