Heron Pond Montessori School has been serving the Outer Banks families since September 1995.
We are a North Carolina registered private school and follow the Montessori method of education.
We believe in the “whole child” approach to learning. The primary goal of a Montessori program is to help each child reach full potential in all areas of life.

Heron Pond Montessori School welcomes students of all races, religions, and ethnicities. Our enrollment process aims to ensure that HPMS remains a lively and diverse community guided by Montessori philosophy, committed to the shared work of “following the child.”
We accept children on a space available bases and attempt to fill the classroom with the appropriate age and gender balance.
